NEW DELHI: Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh credited MS Dhoni 's advice for helping him stay composed in pressure situations, as he reflected on his evolving role as a finisher in the Indian Premier League .
Speaking during a chat with JioHotstar, Rinku shared that regular conversations with the legendary former India captain have shaped his approach.

"I also speak to Mahi Bhai often — he tells me to stay calm and play according to the match situation. Things fall into place when you stay composed," Rinku revealed.

The 27-year-old, who typically bats at No. 5 or 6 for KKR and Uttar Pradesh, emphasised the importance of fitness and mental strength in maintaining consistency across a long season. "With 14 matches in the IPL , it's my responsibility to maintain my body and recover well," he added.
Rinku, known for his late-over heroics, also spoke about learning from senior teammates like Andre Russell . "I observe Russell closely, especially how he bats in the final overs and uses his body to generate power. I keep picking up things from him," he said.
On the evolving nature of T20 cricket , Rinku backed the possibility of a team breaching the 300-run barrier in the IPL. "Yes, we can do it. IPL has reached a stage where even 300 is possible. Last year, Punjab chased 262. All teams are strong this season — anyone can get to 300," he said.
