Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix led the Broncos to a 33-10 win over the New Orleans Saints, marking a major rookie milestone. Denver coach Sean Payton played his first game in the Superdome as an opposing head coach, having coached in New Orleans for 16 years and helped rebuild from Hurricane Katrina. Nix leads the Broncos to a 4-3 record, their best record after seven games since 2016. His four wins tied the franchise record for most wins by a rookie quarterback in a season, with former Denver quarterback Drew Lock reaching the record in 2019. NFL legend John Elway also achieved a 4-7 record as a starter.

The Denver Broncos defeated the New Orleans Saints 33-10 in Week 7, marking former Saints coach Sean Payton's return to New Orleans. Payton coached the Saints to their lone Super Bowl victory in 2010. In April, Payton and the Broncos drafted quarterback Bo Nix in the first round, who won the starting job after training camp. Nix has experienced ups and downs in his NFL career. Denver's win over New Orleans increased their record to 4-3, matching the Broncos' record for wins by a rookie quarterback, set by John Elway in 1983, who previously had a 4-7 record.

Nix said realizing he had achieved something in line with one of the franchise's greatest players meant a lot. "It means a lot," the rookie signal caller told reporters on Thursday night. "You’re talking about one of the greats to ever do it at our organization. It means a lot.” Nix also acknowledged that there is still room for improvement. "You’re in great company. I am not finished. We have a lot in front of us, so I definitely don’t want to stop there. We are going to continue to get better as a team. I am going to continue to grow and learn as a player. Hopefully, we will continue to have wins like this," he said.

Nix completed Thursday's game with 164 passing yards and 75 rushing yards. The Broncos started 0-2 but went on a three-game winning streak. They returned to winning track against New Orleans after dropping to the Chargers. The Saints played their second consecutive game without Derek Carr due to an oblique injury.
