The 20th edition of WWE Backlash will emanate live on May 10, 2025, Saturday, from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Fans can witness all the live-action at 7 ET/4 PT exclusively on Peacock in the U.S. and Netflix internationally.

After much speculation about former NJPW star Jeff Cobb’s debut in WWE, it has now come to light that the wrestler is all set to make his debut at the upcoming WWE Backlash in St. Louis. Reports suggest that Cobb has recently ended his contract with NJPW, officially becoming a free agent.






NJPW has also confirmed his release in a statement, citing, “ New Japan Pro-Wrestling has come to terms with the departure of Jeff Cobb at his request. With Cobb, one-half of the IWGP Tag Team Champions, those titles have now been vacated. Cobb’s final match in NJPW will take place in Korakuen Hall on April 19 against Hiroshi Tanahashi. New Japan Pro-Wrestling profoundly apologises for the sudden nature of this news and joins fans in wishing Cobb the best in all his future endeavours.”






Regarding Jeff Cobb’s debut at WWE Backlash 2025, many sources have confirmed the same. A PWInsider report suggests, “Some people within WWE anticipate Cobb will be present at the Backlash premium live event this Saturday. Additionally, WWE has reportedly been actively discussing creative plans for Cobb’s official debut in recent weeks, indicating that his integration into the roster is imminent and deliberate.”

However, they have also reported that there’s no confirmation if he’ll appear on screen. Meanwhile, Cobb is now listed as a member of the SmackDown roster, suggesting that his official introduction could happen on an upcoming episode of the blue brand, in case he misses out on WWE Backlash PLE.
