PATNA: An altercation over Durga puja music between two 'tolas' in a village in Bihar's Sitamarhi on Saturday escalated into a violent clash on Sunday soon after the idol's immersion, leaving two people fatally injured, reports Faryal Rumi.
"Miscreants stabbed Sahni and hit Bharat Manjhi with an iron rod when they tried to calm the situation on Sunday. Sahni succumbed to his injuries, while Manjhi died in a hospital in Muzaffarpur on Monday," Sitamarhi Sadar SDPO Ram Krishna said. Sahni's wife filed a complaint, naming 23 people, Suppi police station SHO Vishwadev said. Manjhi's family said they will register the complaint after they receive the body," he said.
