An IndiGo flight from Chandigarh to Mumbai received a bomb scare on Tuesday night.
The threat was allegedly made via a call to Mumbai’s Sahar airport hotline.
However, the flight landed safely at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport late last night, where security officials conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft. Mumbai Police later confirmed that nothing suspicious was found on board.
This incident follows a similar scare just last month, when an IndiGo flight from Jaipur to Mumbai was forced to make an emergency landing due to a bomb alert, which ended up being a hoax.
Meanwhile, IndiGo’s domestic operations have been heavily affected, with around 160 flights cancelled. This disruption comes in the wake of heightened security concerns, as Indian armed forces reportedly carried out missile strikes on terror camps across the border in Pakistan.
Further details are awaited.
