Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made his first public appearance since the recent military escalation with Israel, according to AFP news agency.
Khamenei was seen attending an Ashura night event in Tehran, wearing black attire and a white checkered scarf.
A video of the appearance was shared by Fars news agency of Iran on X, marking his return to the public eye amid heightened tensions.
This comes after a week-long confrontation between Iran and Israel in mid-June. Israel had launched Operation Rising Lion targeting Iranian nuclear sites. However, Iran also retaliated as it hit key cities in Israel - Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
The United States also joined the conflict, launching Operation Midnight Hammer to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
