He said he's the first buyer of his Gold Card that bears a photo and the signature of the president as well. “For $5 million, this could be yours,” Trump told reporters. “That was the first of the cards. You know what that card is?” “It’s the gold card — the Trump card .”
This gold card would replace the EB-5 visa program which gives foreign nationals who have invested about $1 million into the US a way of getting a green card. Now anyone paying $5 million can buy the gold card and get green card privileges.
Trump pulled out the credit-card-sized card on the day US stocks tumbled in the aftershocks of his tariff announcements. "He does this on the very day the market wipes out $2.6 trillion in value,while millions of Americans fear for their jobs amid a looming recession. So out of touch," Republicans against Trump X handle posted.
"Tone-deaf doesn’t even begin to cover it," another wrote.
