Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden, in an interview, denied that a bag of cocaine was found in the White House in 2023 after FBI recently reopened the case. “I have not touched a drop of alcohol or a drug, and I’m incredibly proud of that,” he said during the interview with Channel 5, a popular Youtube channel created by youtuber Andrew Callaghan. “Why would I bring cocaine into the White House and stick it into a cubby outside of the situation room in the West Wing?”
On July 2, 2023, the United States Secret Service found a small plastic bag containing less than a gram of powder cocaine inside the White House. The White House was evacuated immediately. Joe Biden and his family were at Camp David in Maryland at the time the cocaine was discovered. The Secret Service investigation remained inconclusive as it did not yield any forensic evidence. The case was closed within 11 days.
FBI deputy director Dan Bongino recently announced the reopening of the case as Trump too earlier speculated that the cocaine could be from either Joe or Hunder.
Hunter spoke about his addiction in his memoir "Beautiful Things" but he said in the interview that he did not touch touch drug or alcohol for years, sober since 2019. In 2024, he was found guilty of felony charges related to purchase of a hand gun. Joe Biden gave him a presidential pardon before he left office for any crime he "committed or may havbe committed" from January 1, 2014 to December 1, 2024.
Biden took a jibe and Donald Trump Jr and Georgia Re Marjorie Taylor Greene for attacking his past often. “So, I think for those that wanted to use it as a bludgeon, it just was easier when you slap the word ‘crack addict’ onto it,” he said. “It made me a lot easier target for the Don Juniors of the world, the Marjorie Taylor Greenes of the world, just because of their inherent, kind of, meanness about things.”
